“I have never felt more needed in my nursing career than my time spent helping patients at Signallamp Health.”

Signallamp Spotlight features interviews with some of our talented and passionate team members. Our goal is to provide a peek inside our organization, specific aspects of the profiled role, and a few lesser known details that offer a glimpse into the lives of our Signallamp family outside of work. This spotlight features Emily Robacker, LPN Urology Team

Tell us a little bit about your role and a day in the life.

My current nursing role at Signallamp is on the Urology team where I care for my patients’ urological needs. I’m providing lots of education to build on guidance from their provider and give added support if there are more urgent issues. My patients have lots of questions, usually after a surgery, and I am trusted voice for them in challenging times.  In the United States there are around 33 million men and women with a urological conditions. That makes my position as a Care Management Nurse in high demand.

Why did you decide to do the work you are doing now?
I decided to be a part of the Signallamp team because it offered me a vast opportunity, flexible hours and competitive pay. The job has given me the ability to work from home and provide rewarding nursing care to patients in need.

My favorite thing about working at Signallamp is the ability to make a difference. We as Care Management Nurses get to know patients on a personal level compared to a simple office visit. The patients begin to rely on us as nurses for their health care needs. I have never felt more needed in my nursing career than my time spent helping patients at Signallamp Health.

What are some small things that make your day better?

I really enjoy riding my horse Rubin. He brings me such joy. I love spending time with my 3 dogs too. All my fur babies play a huge part in my life and better my day.

What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?

My ideal weekend would be a cabin trip in the Smoky Mountains. It is a dream of mine to travel to Tennessee and see that amazing scenery.

If all jobs had the same pay and hours, what job would you like to have?

I would be a farmer. I would have livestock, show cows, goats and several horses.
