How did you first learn about Signallamp?

After years working across multiple aspects of healthcare (skilled nursing facility, assisted living, primary care offices, and specialty offices) I realized that as valuable as these places are, they can sometimes be so busy that it’s hard to go the extra mile for our patients. CCM is that dependable person for our patients, letting us be an extra resource dedicated to meeting their needs and getting them the best care possible. My drive to help patients achieve this is what took me to Indeed and then brought me to Signallamp.

What do you like the most about your job?

Flexibility is the number one most sought after perk in job searches, and I love that this company offers so much flexibility. But my favorite part of this job is probably the satisfaction of getting to go the extra mile for my patients. After all, this is why I became a nurse!

What is the best career lesson you have learned so far?

Do the research! There are so many resources for patients that I was unaware of before. Sometimes a little research will uncover something that can really make a difference in a person’s life. Researching can include asking colleagues and supervisors, as well as Google!

Compared with day one, how has Signallamp grown?

There’s nothing better than working as a team at Signallamp. Whenever we sync up to work together, we can move through patient panels so fluidly that it’s pretty impressive. Our team is always growing. New people join us and it’s so much fun to get to meet them and help them learn the systems and workflows. I guess seeing our company staff grow is definitely one of the highlights for me.

If you could select one co-worker to mentor you, who would you pick and why?

Jennifer McComb is someone I already consider my mentor. She has a great wealth of knowledge when it comes to resources for our patients. She is always showing genuine care and concern for her teammates as well as her patients.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

I spend as much time as I can outside! Whether it be mountain biking, snowboarding, or wake surfing I love to be outside. And being outside with friends and family makes it so much better, I love spending time with them outside.

What is a fun fact about you many people may not know?

I am a mom of three and I am so excited because I will be getting married this October.

Tell us about the craziest experience you have had with a patient:

While working in a SNF I had a patient who passed away and was pronounced deceased. As I was calling the funeral home guess who walked out and proceeded to shock us all by living for another two weeks!?!

Share a success story from your time in CCM:

There was a patient I had never spoken with previously who called in stating he had become unconscious several times over the past week. Patient was noted to have slurred speech, so I contacted the patient’s son who eventually agreed to take the patient to the ED the next day. The patient ended up having a stroke, but he was able to get treated thanks to my assessment and interventions.
